Action Aid accuses New Alliance of Illegal Land Grabs

Action Aid has published a report accusing European companies of illegal land grabs conducted through the agricultural development programme known as the New Alliance for Food Security and Nutrition. This focuses on cases in Tanzania, Mozambique and Nigeria that have already occurred and warns of further cases in the future within the current structure of this programme spearheaded by the US, UK and other European countries.

China-Maghreb Economic Relations

A new book, ‘China, the European Union and the Developing World’, compares the nature of Chinese and EU engagements in 5 global regions in terms of security issues, trade, politics and more. Chapter 10 of the book by Thierry Pairault takes a specific look at ‘Economic relations between China and the Maghreb’ which seeks to redress the focus of China-Africa relations usually being placed on Sub-Saharan Africa.
