FAC will soon be welcoming applications for a new round of the Early Career Fellowship Programme targeting the next generation of researchers working on the future of agriculture in Africa. Now in its third year, the successful Fellowship Programme, designed for professionals who have recently graduated from post-graduate studies and are beginning their careers, is already benefiting 18 promising researchers in Africa and the UK.

The programme is a key step towards strengthening the capacity of young students to carry out high-quality research and engage in pro-poor policy making.

Three types of awards will be available:

1.      Africa-based, full time for one-year, post-Masters or post-Doctoral fellowship;

2.      Africa-based, part time for one-year, post-Masters or post-Doctoral fellowship; and

3.      UK-based, full time for six-month, post-Doctoral fellowship.

Successful applicants will be linked up with FAC members who will provide mentoring support during the Fellowship. Details on specific Fellowship themes will be available in early January 2012 and will be posted on our Fellowship page.
