Thematic Focus:

In parallel to country-level work will be cross-cutting thematic working groups convened by consortium members, but involving African and other participants from outside the consortium. The aims of the thematic working groups will be to:

  • draw out wider lessons being generated by the country/regional cluster work

  • highlight where ground experience complements or challenges 'conventional wisdoms' about agriculture, poverty and growth

  • provide a source of materials for briefing and policy advice beyond the country level

The following four themes will cross-cut the country work and inform the work of the consortium in the first instance:
