Development after 2015

As post-2015 development goals are being developed by the UN and others, Andrew Dorward of Future Agricultures gave evidence to the International Development Committee in the UK yesterday (23 October).

The UN has launched a broad consultative process for the new goals, after concerns that the Millennium Development Goals were imposed on developing countries.

Speaking to the committee, Andrew Dorward (SOAS) highlighted the difficulty of getting poor farmers represented in international negotiations, and the need for a framework to be holistic – incorporating factors such as wellbeing, health, climate change, population stabilisation and water.
