Early Career Fellowship Programme

24098-small The Early Career Fellowship Programme is a new FAC capacity building initiative for the next generation of researchers working on issues of agriculture policy research. The programme focuses on early career professionals who have recently graduated from post-graduate studies and are starting on their careers.

Awards

There are three types of awards available under this fellowship programme.

One year full-time post-masters or post-doc appointment
One year part-time post-masters or post-doc appointment
Six months full time post-doc appointment.

Who can apply

This fellowship programme supports young researchers who have recently completed their degree in an appropriate development-related field, including agricultural or applied economics, anthropology, development studies, environmental science and policy (including climate change), gender studies, geography, political science, public administration, rural sociology, science and technology studies, etc.

The focus is on junior candidates early in their career with a strong interest in conducting research on agricultural policy issues in Sub-Saharan Africa.

Competiton was stiff with almost 200 applications. We would like to congratulate the winners and also to wish those who were not successful good luck in their careers. Successful candidates will receive official communication shortly.

The ECFP is available to early career professionals working in Africa and the UK. Both full-time and part-time appointments are available and all fellowships will include a senior FAC researcher affiliated with a FAC partner institution. The awards will support original field-based and policy-oriented research on African agricultural policy.
